Country-wise Share in India’s Inward Remittances

The United States leads as the dominant source of India’s inward remittances, contributing 23.4% of the total inflow reflecting strong economic ties and a large Indian diaspora presence.
The UAE follows closely at 18%, underscoring the significance of the Gulf region as a major remittance corridor. The UK (6.8%) and Singapore (5.7%) also contribute meaningfully, while other Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia (5.1%), Kuwait (2.4%), Oman (1.6%), and Qatar (1.5%) collectively represent a substantial regional cluster.
Nearly half of India’s remittances originate from North America and the Gulf, making them strategic anchors of India’s foreign income inflows.
