PoS by Public Sector Banks

The Point of Sale (PoS) terminals of public sector banks in India show steady growth over the first eight months of 2025, with State Bank of India leading by a large margin, consistently having over 1.5 million terminals. Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Union Bank of India follow, showing moderate increases month on month.
Some banks, like Indian Overseas Bank, have no active PoS terminals, while smaller banks such as Bank of Maharashtra and Punjab and Sind Bank have a minimal presence.
Overall, the data reflects a strong digital payments infrastructure among major public sector banks, with gradual adoption and expansion of PoS networks across the country.
