Agricultural credit in India has shown consistent growth from FY2020 to FY2024. The total agricultural lending increased from ₹13.93 lakh crore in FY2020 to ₹25.47 lakh crore in FY2024 — marking an impressive rise of over 80% in just five years.
Crop loans grew steadily from ₹8.25 lakh crore to ₹15.07 lakh crore, reflecting higher short-term credit demand for seasonal farming activities.
Term loans, which support long-term agricultural investments, also expanded from ₹5.68 lakh crore to ₹10.4 lakh crore.
This steady rise indicates strong institutional support for India’s agriculture sector and growing financial inclusion for farmers.
